Our History
Bandster's story is rooted in initial frustration and a passion for innovation. Our co-founder, Nektarios Cassar, experienced the challenges of booking bands firsthand as a musician in the entertainment industry. The process of coordinating multiple colleagues and finding availability for his bands was time-consuming and inefficient.
Determined to find a solution, Nektarios invented Bandster—a revolutionary multi-scheduling tool for working performers. Teaming up with Natalia Demetriou, an entrepreneurial master of parties, they founded the Bandster company and with software architect Petros Petrou launched the app in December 2016. Their innovative concept quickly gained recognition as they pitched Bandster across Copenhagen, Lisbon, Helsinki, Berlin, Hyderabad, and Nicosia, winning prizes and catching the attention of the Cyprus media.
Users from over 30 countries embraced the Bandster app, and their valuable feedback led to a significant expansion. Recognizing the need for job opportunities within the entertainment industry, the founders transformed Bandster into an online booking platform that connects professionals with work opportunities.
As Bandster's popularity grew, people hosting corporate parties, weddings, and private events discovered the convenience, personalization, and transparency offered by the platform. They expressed their desire for a comprehensive tool that encompasses all aspects of event planning—venues, event suppliers, wedding planners, and event management.
Listening to their users once again, the founders extended Bandster's offerings to include a comprehensive list of venues, event suppliers, entertainment options, and event management services. The platform quickly earned a reputation for excellence, with a database of over 1000 trusted event professionals in Cyprus.
